See the risk before you sign.Never miss a claim after.

CONTRIX reads the contract clause by clause, checks it against the Construction Act and the standard form (NEC4 ECC, JCT 2016/2024, FIDIC), puts every notice period in a diary and builds the claim file the way the contract's own procedure demands. It never says "you are entitled" — it shows where a file can be opened, on what basis and by when.

How it works

From contract to decision in four steps

Upload a PDF, Word or scanned document. The rest is deterministic: same document, same rule set, same result — and every finding is tied to a page and a quote.

1

Read and profile

Clause parsing, OCR, Contract DNA: the Prices, completion date, delay damages and cap, retention, final date for payment, notice periods, governing law — each with source and page.

2

Check against law and form

The country pack loads: mandatory law (HGCRA, Scheme, UCTA), deviations from the standard form (NEC Z clauses, JCT Schedule of Amendments, FIDIC Particular Conditions), your playbook. Risk score and deviation index follow.

3

Diary every period

Access dates, payment due dates, pay less notices, early warnings, defects periods, bond expiries — every window lands in the calendar; conditions precedent are flagged. E-mails and Outlook feed events automatically.

4

Build the claim, draft the letter

The claim radar shows the opportunity, the protocol timeline sequences the steps (notification → quotation → PM's reply → adjudication), evidence readiness is measured; letters and the claim dossier come out as Word.

Product

Manage the whole life of the contract in one place

From pre-signature review to the final account: every module works on the same contract record, the same event chain and the same audit trail.

Contract analysis and risk score

Every clause passes through the jurisdiction's rule set; findings are listed by severity with page and quote. The score follows a saturation curve — not every contract ends at 100. The rule-set fingerprint is stored with the analysis, so years later you still know which rule text produced a finding.

Notice and obligation diary

Access dates, interim valuation dates, due dates, pay less notice deadlines, final dates for payment, rectification periods, bond expiries, termination notices — all in the calendar; day counting per jurisdiction (calendar · working days · Werktage). A missed notice becomes a finding.

Claim radar

49 heads: extension of time, prolongation, disruption, variations, fluctuations, interest, retention, defects, defence heads. Basis + trigger + timing score, protocol timeline, evidence readiness percentage.

Letters in four languages

Early warning, CE notification and quotation, JCT notice of delay, loss and expense, application for payment, pay less notice, notice to suspend, notice of adjudication — plus Dutch, German and Turkish sets. Word drafts pre-filled from the contract; nothing that is not in the contract is written.

Standard-form deviation registers

NEC Z clauses, JCT Schedule of Amendments, FIDIC Particular Conditions, UAV / VOB deviations; Risk Deviation Index 0-100; statutory conflicts carry the rule id.

Contract drafting

Pick clauses from the UK library (HGCRA-compliant payment and adjudication, CDM, BSA, CIS/VAT, UCTA limits), attach the bill and crew plan, get the Word package with 13 annexes. The draft leaves clean against its own rule set.

EOT and programme analysis

Compares MS Project / Primavera programmes: slippage, float, critical path, concurrency; delay damages exposure; staffing commitment vs. allocation sheets.

Mailbox and add-ins

Outlook / IMAP mail is classified by intent, matched to the contract and turned into an event + notice + claim record with one approval. Outlook and Word task panes.

Automatic mail scanning

The inbox classifies itself

Connect an Outlook / Microsoft 365 or IMAP account; the in-server poller reads new mail every 60 seconds. 19 intent classes (claim, extension of time, variation, payment application, notice, NOD, minutes, drawing…), reference / amount / days / deadline extraction, contract matching with reasons. The attached contract becomes a registered contract

A contract attached to an e-mail is detected, analysed with its country and role, and the project and counterparty company are created; pending mail is re-matched to the new contract. Man-hours · crew from the bill

Crew plan from the bill of quantities, staffing commitment from the contract

Bill items are converted to man-hours with labour norms (civil, mechanical, electrical — norm-referenced); the scope is understood from the works description; divided by the period, an average and peak crew is proposed per role. The "12 steel fixers" commitment in Z4 is read automatically and compared with the monthly allocation sheets; short days and deduction exposure are computed.

Flow-down compliance and version comparison

The main contract and the subcontract are read side by side: claim notice periods, final dates for payment, delay damages, limitation of liability, dispute forum. The difference stays with the main contractor — gaps, aligned and unmatched clauses are listed with clause and page. In an addendum or a new revision every changed clause is classified and the affected areas are shown.

Claim radar

A claim starts with a notice and is won on the protocol

Most claims are not lost on a late notice but on the steps after it: the quotation period, the PM's reply, the update, what silence means. CONTRIX knows the chain for every jurisdiction and form and lays it on a calendar.

  • Notice → particulars → response → escalationUnder NEC4 the PM's silence is deemed acceptance; under FIDIC 2017 the Engineer's 42-day silence is a rejection; under VOB/B a 28-day reservation against the final payment. All dated.
  • Quantum admissibility per jurisdictionHudson needs lost-opportunity evidence in England, is not accepted in Germany or the Netherlands, Eichleay is US federal only. The radar writes it next to the head.
  • Evidence readiness percentageProgramme, diaries, notices, applications, allocation sheets, photos, minutes — what is in the registry is measured; what is missing is listed with the records this jurisdiction expects.
  • Claim dossier in the contract's languageSummary, basis, chronology, cause and effect, quantum, evidence, reservation of rights — as a Word file in English, Dutch, German or Turkish.

Your contracts never leave

CONTRIX is deterministic: the document is not sent to any large language model, and every rule that produces a finding is a readable file. Single-file install or on your own server.

One database per company

No table is shared between tenants; attachments and documents hang off the company root with an encrypted key.

Two-step sign-in and roles

TOTP, login rate limits, 7 roles and a step-based approval chain; passwords and mail tokens stored encrypted.

Documents deleted after analysis

UK GDPR: the uploaded contract is parsed and profiled, the file is not kept; only a signed copy is stored if you ask for it.

Immutable audit trail

Every decision, finding change and export is written append-only with actor, time and reason.

Reproducible law

Rule content hash and version are stored with the analysis; a finding shows years later which text produced it. The legal review pack is part of the product.

Consistent backups, your region

Verifiable backups via the SQLite backup API, encrypted disk, TLS + HSTS; on-premises option in the Enterprise plan.

Frequently asked

Good questions

Does CONTRIX give legal advice?
No. CONTRIX is decision support: it shows the finding, the basis, the period and the quote; it never says "you are entitled". Every report says legal review is required. Rule sets are managed through a legal review process (APPROVE / AMEND / REJECT decisions are written into the rule file).
Are my documents sent to an AI model?
No. Analysis runs on a deterministic rule engine, on your own server or in your dedicated database. The contract text goes to no external service; the uploaded file is deleted when the analysis finishes.
Which file types are read?
PDF (text and scanned — OCR), Word (.docx), plain text; MS Project XML and Primavera XER for programmes; Excel for bills; drawing title blocks; e-mail (.eml/.msg) with attachments.
Is the text of NEC, JCT or FIDIC in the product?
No — the forms are copyrighted and their text is not stored. The product knows the structure, clause numbers and published periods of each form, compares your contract's deviations against that map and reports in its own words.
Which languages does it work in?
The interface is English and Turkish. Contract text is read in English, Dutch, German and Turkish; letters and claim dossiers are produced in the four languages. Head-of-claim texts are in English and Turkish.
Can we install it on our own server?
Yes. The product runs without installation on a single SQLite file; the Enterprise plan ships on-premises with encrypted disk, TLS, backups and service unit files.
How are the Outlook and Word add-ins installed?
The manifests are generated from your server; a Microsoft 365 admin deploys them centrally. The Outlook pane analyses the mail and links it to the contract; the Word pane analyses the open document, highlights the finding in the document and inserts the compliant clause.
